Joi Nelson is a passionate advocate, licensed attorney (DC), certified Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) specialist, mediator, trainer, and Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Administrator with a background in human resources, DEI, business law, equal employment, and training. She is actively involved in various organizations dedicated to promoting equality and equity.
As both an educational advocate and an experienced legal professional, Joi is uniquely equipped to interpret and apply the laws that safeguard children and families. She empowers clients to confidently navigate the complexities of special education systems, ensuring their rights are upheld every step of the way. When it serves the best interests of the child, Joi will personally attend school meetings to advocate for meaningful support and services. Her mission is clear: to secure the educational resources your child deserves through strategic collaboration with schools. And if legal action becomes necessary, Joi will swiftly connect you with trusted litigation counsel to ensure your case is handled with the highest level of expertise.

Tiffany Brown serves as an advocate with Prevail Advocacy Group. She is an attorney, educator, and mentor, bringing over 20 years of experience in tutoring, academic coaching, and special education advocacy. A passionate advocate for justice and equity, Tiffany combines her legal expertise with a deep commitment to educational access and reform to support students and families across the country. She is known for developing high-impact academic interventions and leading compassionately through complex special education issues. She also pushes for systemic change through policy work aimed at building a more equitable education system and has worked in both the private sector and the federal government; most recently at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division.
Tiffany graduated from Duke University and earned her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School. She holds an Advanced Certificate in College Advising from Columbia University and is a member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA), the American Bar Association, and the Women’s Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C. and is an active member of the D.C. Bar.
